Overcoming Network Marketing Objections
"Seek first to understand, before being understood"

Once in a dialogue with your prospect you are going to come across network marketing objections. So let’s discuss objections – how you are better able to understand them, and to gain confidence in how to overcome them.

Firstly let’s look at What are Network Marketing Objections?
Well, they are usually either:

  • A request for more information, or
  • A way to avoid making a decision

Network marketing objections do not equal rejection. They are signals that there are unresolved concerns and/or misconceptions about what you have to offer, and not necessarily your prospect rejecting you personally. Once you accept that objections are normal, natural and even positive, perhaps just a request for more information, then a lot of the fear will evaporate.

Your probability for success will be greatly enhanced if you know how to effectively address your prospect’s objections or fears.

Remember the famous words ‘Seek first to understand, before being understood’. They are so applicable when it comes to dealing with objections. When we don’t listen, when we are in a rush to tell our story, or we present the business opportunity even before we know if there is a problem to be solved, we set ourselves up for unnecessary resistance from others.

Instead, we should have a genuine caring conversation with that person.

It’s not a matter of whether you will or won’t experience objections. You will experience objections, as you seek to expand your business. In other words it comes with the territory. Understanding and overcoming objections is such a vital part of building a vibrant MLM business, because every single person whom you are in contact with, is likely to have one, two or several objections to network marketing

When handling objections, do not be on the defensive. Remember, you’re prospect is more than likely afraid of “risk”.

Think about your own experience when you joined an MLM Company. What were your concerns, your main objections? Do you still have them? Because if you do, then it is more than likely, that your prospects will have the same ones too.

As you hear about some of the greatest success stories in MLM, you will realize that no one comes into this life changing business, without questions and objections. Many very successful people in MLM first said NO! It is a fact that some of the top leaders in MLM initially said NO several times!

To minimize objections early in your interaction with your prospect, remember to:

  1. Ask great questions
  2. Listen without prejudging
  3. Discover the prospects needs, or what is missing in their lives
  4. Tailor what you have to offer, to the need or discomfort they have expressed

Just remember – if you let them talk and tell you everything they think, then that will mostly blow off their steam, and then gives you a chance to work out what their concern really is.

To be able to resolve an objection, your job is to:

  • Acknowledge the objection
  • Identify with the objection – in other words validate it
  • Isolate the objection
  • Solve the problem

By following this flow you’ll be able to overcome most network marketing objections.

It is vital to understand that if the timing is wrong, no matter how effective you are at approaching people and overcoming their objections, they will not be open to what you have to offer. So please be sensitive to their situation, and follow up with them when the timing is better.

Good Luck!
