Network Marketing Product Display

The network marketing product display is one of the many ways to promote your products and help build your network marketing customer base. On this page we will teach you how to set up your product display to get the best results. The other methods will be discussed in the coming pages throughout this network marketing product prospecting chapter

Product display

The network marketing product display method as the names suggests involves creating a visual display of the products that you are trying to market and then positioning it in a location that it is likely to have consumer traffic.

Examples of a Network Marketing Product Display may include:

  • Stall at the markets
  • Adjunct to a primary business (eg. hairdressing business who then has a beauty product or shampoo display in their shop)
  • Expo or Presentation stand (eg. a network marketing product stand placed within a theme related expo or at a product related presentation.)
  • Product parties
  • In store promotions/on-site product display’s
  • Information stands providing information about the products (if it is not possible to display products or services)

The network marketing product display method if done correctly is a good way of marketing your product to a broad range of potential customers. The advantage of this approach is that any person who willingly approaches a product display is already curious to find out more and therefore open to being approached by the sales representative. Bearing this in mind, the very first step to creating a successful network marketing product display is to make it visually appealing. This doesn’t mean you need to have all the bells and whistles, but it should look professional and inviting.

Tips to Making a Good Network Marketing Product Stand:

  • Visually appealing
  • Some other way of attracting customers (eg competition entry, giveaway lollies etc.)
  • Appropriately dressed assistant (ie dressed appropriately for the occasion and surroundings).
  • Having someone who is personable and capable of building rapport with your prospective customer, but not pushy or fake in trying to push for a sale. This person should be capable of identifying the prospective customer’s needs and also be familiar with benefits of the products. Additionally this person should be able to relate relevant testimonials.
  • Provide an incentive to order or purchase now (i.e. save 15% if you order today or purchase today and go into the draw for ….), alternatively have take home information for those who can’t purchase on the spot and provide an incentive if they order in the next few days.
  • >Have a way of collecting contact details of interested parties or potential customers (eg. surveys and competition entry forms). Note: If you intend to collect peoples contact details for the purpose for contacting them at a later date, ensure that they give consent for you to do so.

Where Should I Set Up My Network Marketing Product Display?

One of the best places to position your network marketing product display is in amongst other theme related products (or services), as you are likely to attract more qualified customers. If customers are interested in other similar products or services, then there is fair chance they will also be interested in what you have to offer. For example if you have a health product a good place to set up a product display or stand would be at a Health and Fitness expo, as the majority of people attending the expo will already be interested in health related products.

This helps to explain why you will find a number of similar theme related stores in the one place. For example you might find 4 or 5 fast food chains within walking distance of one another, a street full of car detailers, or perhaps a strip of clothing shops. Conventional thinking would have you believe that this is a bad strategy as they would be working in competition to one another, but in fact this is actually (not always) a smart marketing strategy as you are positioning yourself in a location that already attracts qualified customers who are looking for your kind of products or services.

Let’s look at a practical example, as a consumer looking to buy a car if you had the choice of driving 10 minutes in one direction to get to your local car detailer or 20 minutes in the other direction which had 5 car detailers in one location, which way would you go? Most likely in the direction with 5 car detailers because with more theme related variety in the same location you are more likely to find what you’re looking for and at a more competitive price. Whilst each of 5 car detailers are definitely still working in competition to one another, the advantage is that because of their convenient location (theme related) they are attracting a lot more potential customers. It’s simply then just a process of making your product or service look more appealing to your target audience.

Tips to Improve Your Network Marketing Product Sales

As discussed early in this chapter consumers look for physical evidence that a product works and therefore where possible you should look to capitalise on this concept. Depending on what product your company markets you might like to try some of the following:
  • Sample some of the product – This works particular well for products that appeal to the senses, for example if you sell a hand cream that smells good and feels great to run through your hands, the best way to capitalise on this would be to let your customers sample it (onsite), as the product will sell itself.
  • Product demonstration – if they can’t sample it, then show them how it works. Note: Your demonstration should be quick and easy with your customers thinking ‘I can do that’. If your product takes a long time to demonstrate or is complex you might be better off to skip the demonstration.
  • Testimonials – if there is one thing better than a testimonial it’s a variety of testimonials. If you’re just starting out, use the generic celebrity testimonials that your company uses and contact your upline to ask if you can use some of theirs. Ideally as your customer base grows you can collect a whole folder full of testimonials from ‘everyday people’ that your customers can flick through to convince themself why they should empty their wallets.
  • Money back guarantee – basically says ‘no risk’ to the customer. Most network marketing company’s now offer money back guarantees with their products so if this is applicable to your business we suggest you use this to your advantage. It shouldn’t be the most visible statement at your product stand (looks like a tacky infomercial), but it should be there to easily refer to, if you need help to get your customers over the line.

In summary the network marketing product display if done correctly can be a very effective and fun way to attract and interact with your customers. Whilst we always recommend that you take your business seriously, remember you don’t necessarily have to take yourself seriously. You’d be surprised how attractive a little fun can be.

On the next page we’ll look at network marketing product parties and why they’re back in fashion and should be considered as part of your customer building strategy.
